Transverse screw and nut, any solutions?

Has anyone found a decent alternative to the apparently unobtainable transverse screws and nuts?
    Need 3 of them.

Not too tough to make a decent replica in home workshop. Just find screw and nut of approximate right size and grind nut and screw head to diameter that fits recesses in forestock. Cut slot with fine hacksaw, heat-blue where it shows, cobble up a spanner from sheet steel, and Bob's your uncle .

I've got a bunch of the screws here - not a dozen but not just one, either.
