Yes the M2 was select fire. It had a switch on the left side to select between semi auto and full auto fire.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Actually, no. If it's stamped M2 on the receiver ring, it's a machinegun. That's according to 'the man'.
My sig: Consider adding IP/S'G's to my registry. I've found 3 sets of consecutives & WILL immediately inform you of one if you won't cut my throat like someone else did, I do it to help us both. https://grandrapids.wufoo.com/forms/zzlnt0519k86xs/

You actually made me get out of my chair and recheck mine to see if I had yours, so thank you for giving me a reason to take it out of the safe. Unfortunately, mine is 831,xxx but I will keep an eye out for it at the auctions and gun shows when they resume.

At this time it is not on the CMPicon Forum's Serial number list on page 43. But worth watching because they still update it as SN's are reported.

Good Luck Able Fox, Maybe 2021 will be your year!
