    No4T sling questions

Gent's; what length are the leather straps in the 1907 sling for the No4T?
Are there different lengths of original sling?

You will find variations of longer but they started as the short strap is 23'' and long strap is 46''.

No one seemed to notice, if they do they'll move it. Slings, remember no one would likely measure a sling to see if it hit the demand requirements unless it didn't work. They made them longer as I've found but not really shorter...there may be examples but I haven't seen them.

I asked because I have a couple of recently made 1907 pattern slings for my No4Mk1 rifles.
They seem a bit short; on the very last hole of the front strap and would be better with an extra few inches.
I'm currently seeing if I can get some longer ones made in the UKicon; so I can also use one on the No1MkIII*as well. Being slightly longer to the front sling mount.

I know Brownells offers a longer sling for their own reasons, they must have had demand. You aren't alone.

Turner offers both original pattern 1907 slings with period correct hardware and length.
For longer slings, look at their National Match slings. These are available up to 58" (long strap) and use nylon thread instead of linen like the originals.
Also check out their "seconds" offerings. Whatever cosmetic blemish downgrades them will be of no consequence if you intended to actually use the sling.

There was also a similar sling for the Browning Automatic Rifle, with three claw hooks on it, not two.
