Australian Lightened No1 Mk3 Rear Peep Sight

Is anyone aware of a drawing or sketch of the rear peep sight charger bridge modification and the sight itself used on the Australian Lightened No1 Mk3? My past life was as an aero Design Engineer, Machinist and in my retirement I am a gunsmith, that being said I believe there are sufficient pictures available for me to be able to duplicate the sight in my CAD program and then build it, BUT if I do not have to reverse engineer it I would prefer that.

The SMLE was first shortened in that manner in WWI by certain Canadian battalions. They were found particularly useful for bayonet work inside trenches; the bayonets were not shortened however.

Nowadays we'd just have a rotating dial which would be a good deal stronger and simpler.

The S & L has the wrong bolt in it. The serial number on the action is two digits.

Thank you for the offer! Yes additional pictures would be nice. Hi res pictures as large as possible that match the views of a dimensioned machinist drawing would be fantastic. Assuming the receiver it is mounted on is a standard no1 mk3 most dimensions can be extrapolated.

Would love to see a couple of pics Warren...here... Last one I saw that was good was in Milarm back in 1981 when they were still upstairs in that old house in Edmonton. Could have had it for $800 CDN then...
