    Yellow paint on 2a1

Hello all, I’m rather new to Lee Enfields so please bear with me. I was recently offered a nice Ishapore 2a1 for a fair fee. All numbers match and overall condition is quite nice however there is a wide yellow band painted all around the action body and magazine. My question is what does this signify? Any help would be appreciated

A RED or RED on White Band meant DP (Drill Purpose only - not to be fired).

A YELLOW band meant relegated to second line, safe to fire but not to accuracy specifications (worn)

A GREEN band meant 1st rate, accurate and safe.

    A 'Traffic light' system.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

I've been reminded that this was the Australianicon method of identification (not the Indian)

    So ignore the information.

A warning signal in my opinion. I could be wrong, but in that position it leaves little doubt.

I found the pic of this bayonet with the yellow band. It's clearly marked as D.P.
