    303 Brit ammo belt markings

Was given a green cloth ammo belt for Lee Enfield with some chargers and ammo . On the belt it has CAL 303 , 5RD CLIPS , then HXP 34-73 . The HXP is for Greek I think , maybe , but what is the 34-73 stand for ? A date ?

HXP brass is typically dated from 71 ~ 89 so yes probably a date code.

It would be interesting to know of HXP brass dated outside these perimeters?

I couldn't say for sure either, but most likely batch number 34 of 1973 manufacture. Incidentally, it's generally good quality Boxer primed brass.
