Joyce F4 No. 25 Percussion Caps

    Attachment 112081

Any ideas on what these Joyce No24 percussion caps are for, I have a couple of thousand in 100 and 250 sealed tins. The came as a surprise with a job lot of boxed de primed .303 Mk7 cases, just shoved in a couple of the 32 rnd Mk7 boxes. I am a little loath to un seal them, and the google had let me down so far, only reference is someone saying they can use them in their P53 repro but they don’t really fit.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Here's a bit of a read for you. More info. Number 25 percussion caps?? | Muzzle Loading Forum

Perhaps they fit something obsolete like a Brown Bess cap conversion? That would have been big...
    Regards, Jim
