Trigger/sear engagement

I just finished following the sticky thread https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=37213 for improving my trigger. Worked great, however... My hooks were so far off from even, that after stoning the left one to a perfect 5-5.25lb trigger, the right one still doesn't engage.
It doesn't bother me - trigger feels great in the rifle with a 4.25 first stage, and 5-5.25 total. I know the fix to get both sides to engage is knock down the rear hump on the back of the trigger with emery paper, shortening the travel distance to the back of the sear, creating more engagement between trigger and hammer front, and then continue working the right side hook until, repeating both steps until I get even engagement.
Is there any safety concerns not having even engagement at the end of the first stage? If not, I suppose I call it perfect, thank No4mk1t for his great sticky thread, and move on to another project.
Just to satisfy anyone's curiosity, I started with a 9lb+ trigger, with ~4.5 first stage. after polishing all the contact surfaces, it was ~8.5lb total. I walked it down about .25lb at a time with 3-5 strokes of my stone on the left hook. Caution to others, once I hit like 6.5 lbs, it went down really fast - surprised the heck out me. Take your time, only a couple careful strokes at a time.

not sure about it being a safety issue - but if the force is not evenly distributed it will tend to put a rotational force on the trigger causing it to rotate the amount of the clearance in the system - probably will not have a huge effect but it is not design intent of the part thus uncharted territory

It's pretty cool that the trigger can be altered like that. Personally, I've had more than 20 people shoot my Garand. They first complain about the weight of the rifle. After firing their first clip and getting "pinged " they are all smiles. I have never heard anyone complain about the trigger. It is a "battle rifle" and I will leave it as such. Now my ARs, well, they are a different story.....
