    Mauser Rifle Sling

I was recently left my dad's 8mm Mauser rifle, which I am researching (seems to be a scrubbed Czechicon BRNO VZ-24). The action and bore look good, winter trigger guard, but likely a replacement or sporterized stock. Probably nothing more than a good shooter. But my question for today is about getting a sling for it. Just one that doesn't look stupid.

The butt stock has a vertical cutout for a sling, and the front of the stock has a sling swivel screwed into it. I have tried to find examples of a sling for it, but all I can find online is information on TACTICAL! SLINGS! Any ideas on where I can get a normal sling that would be appropriate for this rifle? Thanks!

Google Mauser rifle slings. Or go to the search function top right hand and search for slings, Mauser slings, Mauser rifle slings, K98icon slings, or any combination. You should get lots of answers. You can narrow it down to VZ24 slings after you've seen enough slings to decide which one you want for your rifle.

Thank you, Daan! I had tried Googling it in many ways, but I finally got pretty good results when I tried it exactly as you suggested: "Mauser Rifle Slings." I will also use the local forum suggestions as needed. Thank you very much!

Liberty Tree carries a full selection of mauser slings but they are currently not accepting orders while they get caught up on their back orders.

Vertical cutout sounds like a K98icon style stock. These require a "keeper"

Thank you, Aragorn. It is, in fact, a K98icon. I have acquired an appropriate sling for it now, thanks to the guidance here. And it's a great shooter!
