    Vickers MG Questions & Answers

As part of our ongoing series of videos, we're doing a monthly Q&A video where you pose the questions and I'll do the research to answer them (thanks to Patreon funding - Patreon).

    Our first video covers:

What are the different muzzle attachments? What bullets should inert ammunition have? Did guns and tripods stay together? How do you adjust the fusee spring? How do you lace the barrel casing cover?

    Our second:

Did the Australians supply the Vickers to the Britishicon? How long does a Vickers barrel last? What was the daily allocation of ammunition for the Vickers? How much .303 was produced in WW2? How do you adjust headspace on the Vickers?

Is the "technical artwork" on the wall behind, available somewhere?

    Hi Bruce,

Yes, we reproduce the posters from the originals we have in the collection here. Smallest is A3 and largest is A0. Any poster, any size. https://vickersmg.blog/about/sales/i...ional-posters/

For a quick buy, we do the full set of ten posters in A3 size on eBay - eBay set of 10 A3. The A3 posters are in stock and ready to go but anything bigger is ordered specially and takes about five days to produce.

    Cheers,

    Rich

Not at the moment. But we're planning to acquire one reasonably soon hopefully.

Yes, the one we've seen is the same. Hoping to acquire it early next year but trying to raise the support and funding at the moment. The Association's collection is owned by the not-for-profit so has to generate it's own funds through the sales of 'merchandise' such as the posters, or donations through Patreon, PayPal or Buymeacoffee.

Thanks for sharing. The one we're looking at is one of the Portuguese-made guns. Slightly different in style. We've got a couple of commercial Vickers in the collection and they're finished so much nicer. I did a short video on them a while ago.

Dolf Goldsmith is one of the finest gentlemen you will ever meet. He regularly attends the machine gun shoot at Knob Creek and has a vendor's table in the pole barn. He was gracious enough to sign my copy of his book many years ago.
