Need Help Determining What Type of Carcano I Have

I recently bought a Carcano rifle from Royal Tiger Imports advertised as a "Carcano Carbine Model 1891 TS 6.5X52 Second Model". The rifle is dated 1917 and made by Brescia. The rifle has both sling type configurations and the nose cap is configured to use the standard 1891 rifle bayonet instead of the side mounted type. The sights are not those of a shortened long rifle. What model of Carcano do I have? I am pretty certain that they did not produce TS Second Models in 1917. Any help is appreciated. Images attached.

I thought the model 91TS had the nose cap with the side mounted locking bayonet not the standard bayonet lug?

This rifle is in the configuration of the M91/28TS although the markings on the barrel would not be correct for this model were it new built in 1928. However, several thousand M91TS were upgraded to M91/28TS with the addition of a new handguard, nosecap and bayonet lug. I suspect your rifle with the 1917 date is one of the latter. These are the first rifles Mussolini had manufactured after the fascists took over in 1922. Neat, historical rifle. Best. Tom

I just can't check that site from where I am, but if you can manage to get over the Italianicon language, you'll find all info in this place: Storia del fucile 91.
There is the complete list of all models with tons of pictures.

I'm away from my books at the moment. Most TS rifles accepted the standard bayonet. The side mount was rather short lived which is why they are so "rare" and expensive when you find them, the bayonet, not the rifle.

Based on the year and nose cap, I’d say you have a M91TSM (M91/28) that was likely made as a M91TS in 1917 with the longer nose cap, the bayonet stop near the front site, and side sling loops, and then converted to the 91TSM sometime afterwards by switching the nose cap and adding bottom sling swivels. I’d be happy with it.

Edit: Somehow I missed Old Paul’s answer saying basically the same thing.
