    GI Extractor Plungers

Trying to organize the little parts. I've got plenty of Extractor springs but just a few Plungers left, so I've been looking for just the Plungers. Wanting to put 10 - 12 more together.
Most sell them as a Spring and Plunger together.

I've only been able to find singles listed by 1 seller on GB named (flyingwoof) 1 at a time, starting bid of $3.00 plus ship of $4.00. Listed as NOS but no pictures. I've sent him some questions.
I've also messaged a couple other sellers to see if they'd offer up just the Plungers. Waiting on replies.

Only others I've found are at Numrich which are Repro for $4.00 but I worry about quality.

Sarco-Out of stock. Fulton- Heavy Duty Spring and Plunger $5.95 (But don't know if Plunger is GI ?)

    Any leads out there ?

Charlie, do you know if they were made as replacements up into the 60's like a lot of the other small parts were, and sealed in small packages? I've only got one new one and it came in a "bolt repair kit" from Nick Daily (eBay) in 2007. All the parts in his "kit" were the real deal, but think he re-packaged them. I'll see if I can find the package those parts are in - think I have them in my "gun show" stuff. Haven't been to a gun show since January!

Have you tried "messaging" seller 'bestparts' on GB? They have a lot of small parts and I've bought good extractors from them before. - might be worth a try. Also, I'm thinking of an eBay seller (located in Montana, I believe) that seems to have a lot of individually packaged small parts. I'll look to see if I can locate the name in my "saved sellers" list. - Bob

    GI-Bob,
I got the seller on GB to put a bundle of 12 together. He had my Email, I wish he would have just given me his price but he listed an Auction. I opened the bid.
I've seen sellers like Rick Player have them in bundled bags from the early 50's and 60's. But they usually list 1 plunger with 1 Extractor spring. Or add the Ejector spring also.
I just bought an extra 10 Extractor Springs from Rick and asked if he'd sell 10 -12 Plungers, but haven't heard back.
I'm trying to stock up on the little things.
Numrich has the Repro Plungers but I don't know if their any good. Would rather buy GI.
Have a couple other leads I'm waiting on replies. Jeeze I might end up with 10x more than I need or wanted. But better to have I guess.

I've got a hunch you already have 10x more than you'll ever need! It doesn't hurt to have good spares though and they are easy to lose, or even to see anymore! Another thing I've found that's getting hard to find are new front sight keys. I had one good one I got years ago from Chestnut Ridge - was at a gun show and someone needed one so I sold it. Then found out, about all that's available now are used. I do have one new (wrapped) Inland front sight pin - believe it was from Nick, also.

Saw a Winchester flat bolt on one of the sites today that was disassembled and it had the full "cone" shaped extractor plunger. Made me wonder if it had a long stem like that one of yours! I've only got (3) Winchester flat bolts and don't remember any of them having the early style plungers. I'm with you on the genuine parts - don't want to buy anything that isn't.

I've got several Carbine projects I started 4 years ago and they're still just laying there, waiting for me to get back to them! I wish I could have retired about 5-10 years earlier than I did. - Bob

Lost....I can relate to that. I dropped the last spare plunger I had some time ago and had to replenish my supply. I looked for the little bugger for days. The other day my wife had me move her sewing-machine to the other side of the room and I almost tripped over the little rascal. It had hidden under her machine presser-foot. It was not much larger than a grain of sand when I was looking for it, but appeared as a bowling-ball when I no longer needed it.

Charlie, I just saw these on eBay, but they're being sold individually with a spring for $12. - Bob

Rick player on eBay is a very good source for small GI parts. He did in fact at one time have a sealed package of extractor plungers, but the pack of 10 I believe it was was over $200. I just looked in his items and they are no longer there.I had the same problem years ago trying to find a Sear spring.I could not find anyone selling singles so I had to end up buying a pack of 10 still sealed off of Rick player. All of his stuff is gi, I have bought several extractor's from him as well and you are right charlie, they are usually packaged from the 1950s and 60s

I'm not sure if you have already messaged this seller on eBay Charlie, but the seller thingsrecollected has plunger and spring assemblies for sale. Maybe a message to him might turn up something if he's willing to separate them.
