    guess it depends on what you want to achieve - years ago I paid $700 for a super crisp original Winchester stock - another thing to consider is if the wear patterns match on your parts -Original gas cylinder were du-lite blue - how far do you want to go? it is a nice rifle as is. The stock is Winchester but the cartouche is not original (fake) - would you sand off the cartouche and let the rifle stand as is. What would others do about the stock?

    Also you can dig deeper into your Winchester, example: do you have a Winchester round firing pin ? the rear sight pinion Winchester ?

    I did not recall the serial number ? but early 1.2 Winchesters had the WRA WB stocks, then WRA G.H.D. large box cartouche and the last being WRA GHD cartouche

    How successful would that actually be? One might see the shadow later? Or not...
