Irwin Pederson condition question

I bid this up to $3200 and quit. Is the condition of this carbine as nice as I thought? It looks almost unfired. Is the check mark in the open SA box a sub inspectors mark?

I can tell you this: someone is going to be disappointed. That is a put together gun that has been through an arsenal rebuild. Look at the trigger housing carefully. There is a lube/drain hole drilled in the side beside the mag catch. That should immediately raise a bunch of red flags. There are also no pictures of the individual parts and their markings. There could be a real mixture of non-IP parts on the inside. No close-ups of sights or barrel band; another red flag. No photo of the sling markings either. No pics of the barrel markings. There is no way I would bid more than $1500 for that one without a lot more detailed pictures and I already know part of it has gone through rebuild. No way is it worth what the buyer paid.

Nice looking rifle. I'm no expert but I think the price is way to high. There are some things that concern me:

1. Handguard is a different wood or color than the stock
2. Recoil plate doesn't have the same color metal as the other parts
3. The butt plate looks too dark in color
4. Same thing for the rear sight.

Some of the parts appear to show some wear and patina and some appear to be "newer." Hopefully someone with some expertise on the cartouches can verify the markings on the left side of the stock.

All good reasons why guys that just "Like carbines" should stick with obvious shooter grade. I'd end up trying to buy a nice one and get fleeced for sure.

The Auction doesn't make any claims. Pretty much just quotes the maker and serial number.
You 'Won' by getting out. Boxed SA means it went thru Springfield Armory. The stock appears to have a boxed (I Believe) S'G' right where the arm of the display stand is just behind the pistol grip. The stock has been cut down to Low wood. On the right side the stock has a crack that runs from the Op slides arm joint back to the slides handle and possibly as far as the middle of the bolts' length. On the left side the stock has a crack that runs from the bolts' left lug to the rear of the bolt.... Both cracks appeared to have been glued. The stock has been sanded you can see from a angled picture showing more than usual trigger housing reveal. Like Jim pointed out no telling what parts are in it and the drain/lube hole is present on the trigger housing.
The Frt sight appears to have a number on the left ear. Barrel- reading bits from 2 side views is a Underwood with a long skirt. The fit of the barrel band where the top ring hooks over the hand guard lip is pretty rough / loose / far from tight. Bolt is Grey Parked, while the Extractor is blued. I can't make out the markings on the rear sight clearly, but can see on the S side there is a nice clean clear gap between the bottom of the sight and receiver.

Picture #7 when magnified looks like there is a peek of a crater punch mark on the right rear side partially hidden by the sights spring. I'll try loading it.
