    Mosin PU sniper scope question/identification

    Hi guys,
I'm close to buy a mosin PU sniper 1943 refurb, all match including the scope with forced match mount.
    (kazan factory #237 1943 scope)
    Everything seems correct to me.
Do you ever seen one scope with a copper color rear objective piece? That's the only thing that bug me.
    Thanks!

I've seen many pictures of PU sniper scopes, but never with a copper part. Doesn't mean it isn't legit. Turrets look good. Scope mount looks good. Bolt handles is right. Proper sniper scope number on left barrel.

Two other things that would bother me the most.

    1. The dent in the scope - hopefully it doesn't affect the sealing out of moisture
    2. Stock is dreadfully sanded.

Rounded screw heads on the scope are a positive. I agree with Martin08 reference the stock. It shouldn't look that good.

The issue with the dents is that they make it extremely difficult to get the scope apart if it ever needs to. At one time I had a set of drifts made for doing that on No32 tubes. On the other hand, the scope is not matching, rare or expensive so if you need to replace it you probably can.

AFAIK this is the comprehensive study of the MN systems.

Not my field, but can't recall ever seeing a copper ocular housing; too expensive and too soft!
