    Like stated above, I've seen Dad's method up plugging and filling with #9 do wonders.

    And IIRC Ordnance OK'd some pitting... IF this one is pitted.
    I'd use the barrels current condition and voice concerns about the gas cylinder to bring the asking price down.
    By leaving it in this condition shows it wasn't a 'Valued' possession of the current owner.

    What are the current features on it? Can you give a ballpark asking price ?

    A after thought: Might it have been re-parked without plugging the barrel? And part of this is that Park failing ?
