    Reference Books

I have current funding for purchasing either the Canfield book or Duff set. Any input on which would be more beneficial?
Whichever I don’t get now, I will in the future.
    Thank you for any advice.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Both books are good , neither are perfect. They both offer good information different from each other. There has been alot of information learned since either was published. Both have good information in them but they are only a snapshot of what the author knew at the time the book was published. I'd recommend both and if you're interested in the first design , ie gas traps, then you'll need Pyle's book also, The Gas Trap Garandicon.

And more is better. I try to have as many as I can afford to be able to search through them all. Otherwise for sure you get the one book that has a mistake where you need info. The "Gas trap" is a great book too.
