    Greek Return?

Think I have a Greek 1903 return. Mix master plus funny floor plate and follower. They've been replaced. The muzzle has been crowned. It from the muzzle it looks like maybe the barrel may have been relined? Did the Greeks reline barrels or did a crowning tool make a circular line around the muzzle?
It shoots like a dream and the price was right. Bought it primarily for parts but really pleased with how it shoots. If its been relined it was a great job.
    Any thoughts or comments welcome.
    Thanks,
    TF

It could if the edge of the crown tool wasn't clean. Just a burr will do that. Pics would help. I doubt a .30 cal has had a liner installed though.

    Hi Jim,
I really appreciate your replies and your help with the picture. . I am hoping it hasn't been relined just because I'd like it to be original. It has a late numbered Rock Island receiver, Remington and Springfield parts and it loads feeds and shoots great. I'll probably leave it as is and shoot it from time to time.
Again thank you for your help, time , and effort.
    TF

The pressure is too strong to reline a 30 cal 1903 barrel back to its original caliber. Most Greek 1903 barrels have a letter-like stamp under
the barrel behind the front sight.

I do have a shot-out 1903 barrel with a quality 22 rim fire barrel liner and M2 bolt which is very accurate

conversion of 1903 to 22 rim fire

there are a few gunsmiths and part-time gunsmiths that will install a quality 22 rim fire barrel blank in your shot-out 1903 barrel. The blank requires an extension so that the M 2 bolt will fit and headspace. Best to buy a M2 bolt with the adjustable headspace. Some will sell you a 1903 barrel with the complete 22 rim fire barrel blank installed for around $85 to $100 all you then is to but an M2 bolt.

I did install an old Lyman 439 scope and found it quite accurateAttachment 115651Attachment 115652Attachment 115653
