Jim, Welcome to the forum. Very nice Irvin. (too warm for Berkley but a nice piece of history). My Dad spent the war at Naval Air Station El Centro California as a aircraft propeller mechanic.

Thanks! Although I wanted to be a Marine, but what British boy isn't enamored with the RAF, the Spitfire and the Battle of Britain...
The Irvin is nice. The sleeve zippers have been replaced, and a little tear at the shoulder blade has been nicely sewn, but otherwise it's in great shape. With appropriate size gloves, it's really warm. It will go with me in the bug-out kit. As will the compass. Even with the bubble, it's accurate and easy to use. And I've always been into maps, so that is a fave of mine. The printing is fabulous. You really need a loup to read around Berlin!
