    CMP’s .45 sale?

Has anyone received information concerning their purchase of the .45’s the CMPicon is selling?

They're basically saying, "Go forth and multiply and leave us alone." Volunteers and Covid.
Rumour has it from before the Covid Panic, most of 'em are in pretty rough condition.
Nice of them to include Ontario on their E-mail list when only U.S. citizens can buy from 'em.
    Spelling and Grammar count!

I put my package in and have heard nothing. You don’t even know if they kicked your package out due to an error. Starting to feel like a mushroom, if you know what that means.

I put mine in the same day I got the email announcing a second round... I think that was early November. I just checked today, ready their Feb. update and the past updates. It seems that anyone who has a number assigned from the first round of 1911 sales that didn't get a pistol is ahead of us. I'll admit though their wording isn't the most precise and I may be interpreting it wrong.

I just received a number from CMPicon. It’s 25xxx. My multiplying days are over, so I’ll just have to wait.

WOW! Seeing another post in this thread inspired me to check, and I just got an email 15 minutes ago with a random number!!!!
The re-read the instructions on their site, and they do seem to imply that in round 1 many people were given a RNG, but they ran out of pistols - and so those people are going first in this second round.
I'm just hoping for a service grade. Don't need anything special. just want it to work, and not be a pitted/corroded mess.

  12. Thank You to ssgross For This Useful Post:

CMPicon only accepted Round 2 1911 packets postmarked 4 Jan 2021 or after. CMP is no longer accepting packets. Mailed my packet 4 Jan, delivered 8 Jan.
My RGN 20804. CMP called me 27 April 2021, I asked for a Service Grade; picked up 29 April 2021. Ithaca frame, Remington Rand slide, post WWII barrel. Came in a CMP Logo Flambeau box with a new Mec-Gar magazine, TM 9-1005-211-34, lock, & yellow chamber indicator.
Completely disassembled it except the mag catch & trigger for cleaning: it did need cleaning & lubrication (shipped dry). Fired two boxes of Win Service Grade, had a bit of a problem with some cases not being ejected. Recoil spring looked to be about an inch short; put in a Colt recoil spring; fired three boxes of the Win ammo; no problems.
