That can't be right if they solicited packets by email in early November 2020, and I sent mine then and got a random number 232xxx in February.

Good news that yours was completed. Should be a couple more months now for mine. Will have to check the CMP forums to estimate how fast they are moving/processing

January 4 2021 was the mailing date on the CMPicon Round2 paperwork/application. They did allow download of the Round2 packet prior to 4 Jan 21. If your packet was mailed earlier than 4 Jan 21 & was accepted there must have been another reason.

Just got a nice call from Jenny? at CMPicon. They only have field and rack grades left. My FFL was on file. She said it would go out today and be here tomorrow! I went with a field grade. Hopefully it isn't too chewed up.

I received notification by email on May 12th that my number had been drawn. I responded and had the 1911 in my hands on May 26th. It's a great 1911, that came in a hard case, and I am well pleased.

it came overnight! I picked it up on my way home from work. Remington rand slide, Ithaca receiver. outside finish is pretty worn (field grade). no rust or pitting anywhere though, and the bore looks brand new! A rack number is painted on the left grip. I know some people like rack numbers, but not me.
The case it came in is very very nice, and it also came with what looked like a newly manufactured magazine.

Curious what barrel came with yours and is the recoil spring length correct. The mag with mine is a Made in Italyicon MecGar; barrel 7791193, no year that I can find on it. There are post(s) on the CMPicon Forum about short recoil springs; my spring was short too. Awesome fun to shoot.

barrel has "85" stamped under its serial. I suppose that means 1985. serial on the frame showed up as colt in 1944 in the tables I found. I'll measure the recoil spring tomorrow and take pictures.

went to take the grips off to get rid of the rack number and found one of the screws loose in it's hole. got it out by pressing up on the grip from inside while backing the screw out. the bushing is almost all stripped out and will need replaced. The trigger seems weird to me too. There is so much slack it almost feels like 2 stages, and then it doesn't break until it is pressed almost all the way in to the frame.

The recoil spring that came in mine is ~6", yours is slightly longer. New Colt recoil spring I put my CMPicon M1911A1 is ~7 1/8 ".
