    Based on the s/n it was made in 1931. It has been engraved very nicely. As far as value I do not know as it has been modified. But if you know who engraved it that may help in determining a price. I have an original 38 super in the same time frame and it is valued at $3500. Which is subjective to markes.

    If the engraving was done at Colt then the value has increased by a substantial amount. All depends on being original or not. You may need to get a Colt letter on it but that too would add to the value.

    Beautiful COLT, but the fact that it has been engraved complicates any validation.
    IMO a lot depends on "who" engraved it, regardless its look.
    I always tell my collector mates to put originality at the top of their priority list, originality isn't something that can be restored. I've never seen a 1911 I didn't like.
