    For sale: M14 bipod

I recently acquired a box of M1 and M14 parts from an estate auction including what I think is an original GI M14 bipod. It is in almost new condition with almost perfect dark park The head is marked "US BIPOD RIFLE M2" with P/N "7790688." It bears a yellow DAS 1/2" stamp in yellow. I'm a Garand collector/shooter with no knowledge or interest in the M14 or M1Aicon, but I've been fooling with US military for many years and believe this item to be original and not foreign made junk that has flooded the market. From what I gather the originals have the foot pads nicely TIG welded, the head brazed or silver soldered on and the period dark park nicely applied. This item has all of those characteristics. If there are other features I missed I like to know what they are.

Assuming it is original I need to know what it it's worth. I see originals priced at $400 or more. What's fair?
