    The Green Meanie

I'm sure our fellow Milsurper won't mind me using the forum to praise his latest work....

Chosenman has followed 'The Britishicon Sniper' with 'The Green Meanie' - the history of the L96

As we have said in the past - 'Not quite an Enfield, but a worthy successor to the L42'

Its a superbly produced and researched book that hasn't been put on the bookshelf since it arrived 2 weeks ago - I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who has even a passing interest in the L96

    Well done Steve!

Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I can second that, not all the way through yet but a great read so far! Now ifonly he would do the same treatment to the L42A1, and maybe the No.4(t).

I couldn't agree more with Waco16; a fantastic read......dare I ask "management" if the time is right for a sub forum for AI's to go alongside the Parker_Hale Sub Forum?

I did a chapter on the L42 in The Britishicon Sniper, iv not attempted a book on that particular rifle yet. Hopefully if The Green Meanie goes well that will be the next challenge.
