Bill, I'm not sure what your confused about unless you are referring to the 1945 date on the sling. To me, that is not a big deal since the seller states it is a restoration and it looks like a decent one. It could use an unmodified op-rod, but it looks like he did a good job of assembling some hard to get mid-war WRA parts.

No, the sling is an 1-1/4". Look close at the date on that sling. The numbers don't line up at all.

John, I was asking if this WRA was worth the $1700.00 asking price. Sorry I didn't make myself more clear. I think the sling has been stamped with the date. I have one of them with no date and the hooks are anodized or something.

The rifle does'nt look to bad,I like it . For the money though I'd like to see better pics of the stock markings even though they are listed as faint. An uncut oprod would be nice,and while we're at it I'd like to see the sight base,stripped pinion shaft and backside of the lockbar. When deciding if a rifle like this is worth the price,try and put a current market fair price on each and every item it has on it that you can clearly see is correct and in decent shape. Add those prices up and see where you come out. The stock looks shy on the bottom,got some pretty good sling buckle gouging there. Any receiver overhang or buttplate overhang? Lockup? It all ads up. I'd be willing to bet if you add it all up you'll find his price is not to far off the value of the parts.He also lists he's swapping the sling out for a Boyt42. Need to see it. Slings are not cheap these days either.

Went and looked at mine I'v got two at 1"and a 1.25" just like them with anodized hooks and no dates. Your right 1.25" I should have looked closer. My kids could have done better on the numbers.

I believe it is a Brauer Bros. sling, and their merchandise was good stuff. But I was unaware that they made Govt. issue slings.
