    Springfield M1922M1

I have as Springfield M1922M1 that will not cock. Is there anyone out there that is very familiar with the repair of this rifle or know someone that is?

Will the bolt open and close? Can you remove the bolt? Can you pull the cocking knob back with the bolt closed? Is the sear in working order?

We need more info, please. Some pictures will help greatly. Thanks, and welcome.

Here is a video, showing a little about the differences on the MI and the M2 bolt. Unfortunately, it does not go further than to demonstrate how to remove the bolt head on the earlier model.

My 1922 M1icon does not have a cocking knob. If it does not cock when the bolt handle is lifted, I guess you could pull the headless cocking piece back with padded pliers.

Yes, you are correct. The early bolt does not have a cocking knob.

But some pictures and more information would help!

Someone may have sprayed the trigger/sear mechanism with WD 40 under the common misconception that it is a lubricant.

This can cause the sear to fail to rise up and engage the firing pin. FWIW
