Hello fellows,

Would be more collectible an Inland with SN 2490XX or an Inland SN 5,038,7XX? The 2nd one has less wear.

2490,0xx would be an Underwood not an Inland.

Thanks, I didn't think about that! Since that is the case, the 6-digit 249,0xx would, IMHO, have more value since that is an early rifle and one of the first batch of Inland's manufactured for the war. As always, condition and originality of parts are also important factors to consider.

The 6 digit one has more wear, the handguard, bolt and barrel is Inland and the rest of the parts are Rock Ola.

Nope, I am just the fortunate owner of "B" marked Underwood carbine with a Singer manufactured receiver. I stumbled upon it at my local gun store. I wasn't fortunate enough to find the Singer Colt however.

I think he was asking if I used "Singer" in reference to the 500 1911A1's built by Singer and which are considered by some to be the "holy grails" of 1911's. Of course, if anyone has one for sale for less than 5,000, I will be happy to take it.....okay, 10,000......okay, I'll take out a second on the house for a 100,000.....
