A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I would suggest posting photos so people get a better understanding of exactly what you are referring to.

I assume that the link in your post is your personal email address and not a link to pics. I am not inclined to click it since this appears to be your "maiden-post" and I don't know who you are.

    Rod bayonet M1903 rifle handguard

Most were dumped, none were modified for the 1903/05 or new 30-06 rifles. The rod bayonet rifle handguard is longer than the standard and without a sight groove as it is very low profile.

Excellent repros were manufactured by the late Ben Rice of Cherry Point NJ back in the 70's and 80'sAttachment 116982Attachment 116981

I don't think anyone can answer your question about value until it can be determined if your handguard is original or not. Also there have been quality
repros and handmade repros without the clip inside. it would be extremely rare to find an original - which bring another question: who would need it ?

I would think that if it is an original in nice condition it should be worth $200 or $300 if someone would be interested
