Indo Chinese, 98 type Mauser rebuilds or captures?

Could anyone share pictures of Mausers taken from the Indo-China, Vietnam conflict areas?
I have a Camphor wood replacement stock, very crudely done, that I would like to compare to a complete rifle from that geographic area. TIA!

I saw piles of captured K98icon's in Viet Nam. I think they were out of Russiaicon or Chbina, don't know country of origin. All WWII capture guns, none crude at all. They were in very good shape and no reason to re-stock as they( Viet Namese Army) had piles in capture inventory. More then just a few MG42's, also. By the way, I never saw even one 8mm cartridge. None around at all.

    Thumbs up

Definately a local/home made replacement stock.
The drawing you show looks like the marking on an Isreali made butt plate.
Here is a photo of a 98k that came out of Cambodia in 1970. It has the RC X on the rec. Have the trophy papers.
I also have a 98k that was brought back in 1966. It is a captured frog that was reworked by the Viet Mhin/VC, but also still has the cut down orig stock.
Got it from the widow, but no papers were found.
I have photos of stacks of 98ks, MG 34s and PPShs taken off of a coastal freighter that was sunk/beached and US troops captured and unloaded it. According to the official report there were about 2 million rounds of 8mm found also.

Many thanx Sarge. Your imput on the buttplate is very helpful.
On the Gunboards Mauser forum, "Vulch" said it looks like a jungle fabricated stock out of South Americaicon, made from Patagonia cypress wood. Others mentioned that it used to have an Israeli Mauser in it [evidence= the narrow front barrel band w/side sling swivel and opening in the stock at the rear]. I checked the proof against a Jewish alphabet and the symbols look very much like a Jewish A and B. So, you were on to it.
    Regards, Chuck.
