A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Sold at 1247,65 Euro (equals $ 1518 or 1077 GBP or 1839 CAD) - not having much other references to compare it with it does sound a lot, even for a hooked quillon.

The new owner may find it`s been opened up a bit to fit the M 71 or M 71/84 Mauser.

A guy tried to sell me a `07 Enfield bayonet as a M-71 bayo years ago. Said "it fits a M-71" when I pointed out it was for a No. 1 Enfield.

Compared one here. No go, but looks like it would not take much to make it work.

Artillery marked. Those guys sometimes got the bottom of the barrel for small arms. So who knows.
