    LE cheekpiece dimensions

I want to add a cheekpiece to my No4 MkII to use with the scope. The dimensions on the drawings in the library are unclear, can anyone give me the dimensions please, in inches or metric. Height, length, width, etc.

Or where I can buy one in South Africa.

You can enlarge the picture so you can read the dimensions, or...you could just order a replica cheekpiece from Sarco:https://www.sarcoinc.com/no-4-mk1-t-...e-cheek-piece/

I just bought one cheek piece from
gun parts corp. It's a unregulated item so it should ship without problem.

Daan, since yours is a Mk II rifle, I imagine you're not going for complete authenticity? If so, the cheekpiece need only be "in the spirit of the original". Given all that, and given the SA postal service, I'd make it myself. I'd use any close-grained wood, doesn't have to be especially hard wood. I'd start by making a rough over-sized blank. Then I'd fully groove the concave under-surface using the butt as the guide to fit. By doing this first there's less risk of splitting it. When it fits perfectly, I'd cut it to length, and then I'd shape the outer convex surface till it looks like the pictures. It would be an enjoyable afternoon. I might even attach it with glue or double-sided tape, rather than screws.
Failing that, I can get you one from DS solution Sniper Cheek Piece (Beech) for No4(T) L42A1 Rifle and bring it out to SA when I'm next there, maybe end of 2021 if covid will have died down?

Thank you Rob. Definitely not authenticity.

That's why I want the overall dimensions, so I can make one. I'll follow your recommendation.

The best I can see on the drawing is an overall length of 6.7". I'll take the width of the butt as the width of the piece, and the height will be the sight height of the telescope above the iron sights. Double the sight height for the contour over the butt.

Daan, I live near you and have two originals. Should you wish to come and take some measurements, just send me a PM. Terry
