Another K98 "what do I have here" thread

My buddy asked if I could find out more information about this Mauser. I'm pretty good when it comes to commonwealth arms, but I'm out of my wheelhouse with Mausers. The pictures pretty much tell the story, but fail to show that the bore is beautiful and it's a good shooter. I think the foresight protector is Czechicon and I suggested he source a proper K98icon sight hood. So to all you Mauser experts out there, what are your thoughts? Possible value? Any information would be much appreciated.

Very nice German manufactured K98icon. I was getting super excited as each picture came up with a matching serial number until the last one with the rear sight which was different. The overall condition looks great and bolt matches the receiver so he has a great gun! The front barrel band style matches the 1944 manufacture date. The real experts are going to be able to provide you with more information and more pictures will really help them out.

Ive seen the K13 and K23 stamps before on other mausers that were said to be depot reworks. Some say East Germanyicon and some say Yugoicon..im not certain which country it signifies. Nice rifle for sure.
