    Heads up on KCB-70 Bayonet for Stoner 63 / M16 / AR18

I get emails from RTI, I like them unlike many others. Checked out the new bayonets they got in and ordered one of these from them. Hate paying that much for a modern bayonet but it is cheaper through them by a very wide margin than anywhere else I could find them. The Russianicon bayonet they have is also priced fairly but others have them at that price.

I was lucky enough to find two locally. Sarco has some Korean bayonets that look similar (flat scales) for the M-16.

My problem is I never really paid attention to the new stuff. Post WWII just wasn't my interest for a long while. Now I've run out of the early stuff and the new stuff is priced ridiculously. Probably 20 years from now when they surplus all of it it will be dirt cheap. I may not be here 20 years from now or even collecting anymore if I am.

Is the Korean bayonet the one I posted in the other thread?

That's the Stoner bayonet I compared the odd M7 bayonet to. The scales are similar.

Grip is similar but the blade on this one is more warsaw pact style.

Yes, the wire cutter changes the blade. The M7 they tried to incorporate a wire cutter into wasn't very durable.

Anyone actually try the wire cutters on bayonets? Curious if they actually work or damage the blade.

Yes they work to a point. The ones we had on our test pattern C7 bayonets in the '70s on trial were made so the blade could be set either way on the lug of the scabbard. If placed backwards they would break the end off the blade. If placed correctly they worked fine. They were not accepted so moot point. The AK blades work fine, razor wire can be a problem but guys trying them didn't care as we procured hundreds of "Baksheesh" bayonets in Yugoicon. I haven't even seen a Stoner bayonet for a couple decades or more so can't say about them.
    Regards, Jim
