    MOUNTAIN GUN BOER WAR 2.5"

These were no easy pull up South African mountains during the Boer War and conflicts around that time.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Boar! boer? Huge difference. boar=pig, boer=farmer

Quite right, mountain guns didn't help much as the Boers didn't much believe in being on mountains, more in the way of being light mounted infantry. Getting the gun to the top didn't help much as there wasn't anything to shoot at.

They are doing the Unfix, taking their time from the man on the front and left.

You are correct. Rifle between the knees on the first movement... On the fix it never leaves the right side.
