    Ammo Can from Iraq

Brought this ammo can back from Iraq in 2003, I believe it may be a SG43/SGMT ammo can. Can anyone confirm??

I've never seen one like that, not even when I was there in 2003. I did mail home a couple of wooden grenade boxes we had emptied in country and used as seats in the back of the soft tops on convoy security (no up-armor back then)...I filled them with cigars I bought in Kuwait on the way back to the ship, then placed in empty MRE boxes I think after the post office sergeant guy verified I wasn't mailing ordinance or contraband home. He didn't seem to care about where the cigars came from.

Hopefully, the cigars were not copies made from camel *hit and anything that would burn.

I thought cigars were supposed to taste, smell, and look like you were smoking a turd? Isn't that the whole point? to show everyone you are macho enough to smoke a turd? Now I'm trolling...apologies to all the wonderful and friendly cigar smokers. Only pun was intended I gave most of those away over the years...so likely many were so old as to be turd like when someone actually got around to smoking it.

SSgross-- Understood. No problem. I was in Iraq from the initial invasion through mid-2004. I found the Iraqis to be very enterprising indeed. I once found several selling bathtub gin in bottles with a picture of Al Capone with a Tommygun. Only God knows what was in that brew.

fjpurple maybe we crossed paths early on! It was certainly funny hearing the perceptions of American culture abroad. Much of it is so out of date to be hilarious, or so wrong/skewed by propaganda to feel even more sad for them.
