So, if I show up with a carrier of two...we can take it out for a couple shots? Maybe somewhere up in Brecon where we can't hurt anyone? Throw it all in the car and go?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Jim,
As you know, as a Trustee of our Regimental museum, we needed a Charlie G for a display, and would you believe there wasn't one deac available through the usual MOD unit, so I decided to make one, and a spare for me as in the picture.
I bought oddments for them both, such as the telescopic sight, and handles and covers and Bob's your uncle. The Venturi doesn't open but someone with a decent cutting saw could achieve it easily, to accept the drill round!!

It looks pretty convincing. I had to carry one of those for five days on my Inf Pl 2I/C course. Seemed nobody else wanted it. As you know, fire and movement with the 84 can be a pig when you're already beat.

Back in the day when I was a Super Grunt, we were on exercise with little sleep in a few days.
We were tasked to establish an OP on a particular ridgeline in the dark.
One big beefy member was carrying the CG, when we finally got established I did a head count....one short.
So off back down the mountain I went....found the gun before the gunner, sticking up out of the mud like a marker on a grave, the digger curled up out of the mud snoring.....boy were we beat.....bloody hard work back then.

I'm going to try it for size in a slightly different attitude shortly, i.e. parallel to the horizontal and report back.
