    Thanks guys, yes it is a Long Branch rifle so may go the bluing route.

    Does anybody have any nice pictures of a REL / LB bracket for reference?

    I've found a convenient way to parkerise is simply to boil the part in Coca Cola (which is 0.5% phosphoric acid). It changes a bright/silvery/polished "in the white" finish into a dove-grey matt finish.

    Thank you Roger, you can definitely see the Long Branch brackets were the inspiration for the angled leg. Just a shame it's so perfectly done.

    Can i be super cheeky and see from above showing the top caps.

    Edit; just noticed your scope is 1C!! Amazing, R.E.L Mk.3 scope number 1 right?
