Finally found a load my Kar98k really likes.......

Recently started loading for my '42 Kar98kicon and I have found a few combinations that I can use for deer and hogs with components i have on hand, but this load was the best of my efforts so far at 100yds.

I was surprised the old girl could manage this.

    Good day at the range.

I have a scout scope mounted on my Mauser using a Badace NDT mount replacing the leaf sight.

Very nice. I don't shoot an 8mm but can you add your load data? Curious minds like to know.

Those rifles can shoot for sure. This is very nice performance, especially if it's repeatable. Good job shooting and yes, if you could share your load data that would be awesome too!

The accuracy of the firearm doesn't deteriorate with the age of the firearm.

True, it's not so much the years, but the mileage and the maintenance.

I've had this rifle since the early 80's and hitting 12-15" steel plates from 100-300M at Ft. Hood using surplus ammo was never a problem.
Of course, my eyes were much better back then and there was a lot of cheap Germanicon surplus available.

Shooting various combloc 8mm over the years generally produced at best, 4" groups at 100yds.
Guess I never really expected much more than that.

Quite acceptable for a combat rifle.
