M1A1 Stock Issue

I have an after market M1A1 stock that looks, feels and operates quite well. However, I am distressed by the fact that the folder mechanism doses not "lock" in the extended (open) position. Apparently, the after market item does not have any method to "lock" the stock in the firing position. I would love to hear from anyone that has advice that would help.

Apparently, the original stocks had a "detent" or "stop" that would lock the stock in the firing position. However, the repro-stocks (while looking good), do not offer this option.

If anyone can help me figure out how to adjust/change this stock, I would be forever grateful

These reproduction stocks have been made by several different makers over the years. I have a very nice older Italian made M1A1 stock that locks up properly.
You can look through this site and compare your stock parts to the original. Might help you find the lockup issue on yours'.

Yes, there was a pressure lock at the bottom and it's illustrated in picture down at the bottom half of the diagrams and the article.
