    .577-.450 ammo crate?

I spotted this a few months back, in a tiny museum in the middle of Queensland.

    Markings illegible.

My punt is that it is a specimen of the "legendary" ammo crate for Martini Henry ammo.

Note the trapezoidal shape where the sliding lid used to be.

Does anyone have an "intact one with the labels / markings still visible?

    Check Google

Lots of imagery on the web. Google is your friend. Some collectors have made handsome replicas. Best wishes. Dave
