    WTK: Colt 1911 Recon

Want some information on a Compact version of the 1911 that I saw today. Can anyone help me with information and advice on the Recon model made by Colt ? When were they made and are they worth there weight and price for a carry gun ?
    Thanks for your help

I bought one in the late '90's.(S/N: CR0142...it was stolen from me in 1998)
I've seen on another board that only 487 were made. G/S owner said 500.
Only 2 made it to Alabama.
I've had a few Officer's and Springfield compacts...none were reliable'
I didn't expect the Recon to be any better, but, surprisingly, it never failed to feed or eject.
My present carry gun is the Springfield with Officer's size frame and Commander's length slide/barrel.
(I wish I still had the Recon.)
