    Oops! Blue on Blue

Watched a short doco on the gulf war and BB63 with how Suddam tried to get her with exocets and land based ship missiles.
The attempts failed with the Mirages being shot down by F-16's or 15's and the second attempt was defeated by I think a Phalanx from a Brit destroyer.

The one that caused the issue was spotted by an A-6 which they thought was a missile launch but was in all reality a storage tank Suddam's forces had blown up.
They alerted the task force and the ships put the CIWS online including BB63, to which the battleship launched chaff, here is where it went south.
The destroyer closest to the Missouri CIWS thought the chaff was a threat and engaged it with a 200 round burst.
Of which 25 rounds struck the battleship with 2 penetrating some armour but no injuries were recorded.

Another lot of chaff was released by the battleship and another burst of fire came her way but was a short lived one as someone manually switched the destroyers CIWS off.
So that's just something I stumbled across on you tube which I don't think many would know about.
