My Father made this gun cabinet for me 35 years ago when I really started collecting MilSurps. It fits M1 Carbines perfectly!

All have their correct as issued metal parts and correct Oilers and Slings, and the July 1945 made Winchester even has an Aerial M4 Bayonet on it :-)
I have two 1942 and 0ne 1943 Ammo Pouches, and some 1942 issued WESTERN and WINCHESTER 50 Round boxes of Ammunition, and

Is that a bayonet lug on the 6M Rock-Ola? If so, it must have been added during an upgrade at some point in it's life. Like you, I treasure everything I have that was either given to me by my Dad or belonged to him. - Bob

Yes, my grandfathers Rock-Ola went thru the Post War rearsenal process and got a type 3 bayonet lug and adjustable rear sight and an Inland trigger housing group. He got in the late 1950s and had a metal perforated Handguard and fore-stock custom made pistol grip on it which I replaced in the 80s with an RMC wooden handguard and I removed the pistol grip.

I learned to shoot on this Carbine in his TN cow pastures as a 12 year old and I’ll be teaching my Grandsons how to shoot with it as well :-)

What’s fascinating to me about this Rock-Ola that I got as a teenager was that it was made in the last month Of Rockola’s production, May 1944 and it’s only about 3600 numbers from the very end of the 228,000 Carbines they made.

Rained all day so broke out the tribe and rubbed them all down with Flax Seed Oil :-)

Well, now we know where all of the high wood stocks went too....seriously, it is great to see beautiful pieces of history so well maintained and cared for.

Whats interesting is that my May 1944 last month production 6216xxx Rock Ola that I got from my Grandfather has a Highwood I-Cut stock even though it went thru the Post War re-arsenal process and got an Adjustable Rear Sight, Type 3 bayonet lug, and flip switch safety but keep its older style stock. I guess the older stock was still good enough for War :-)
