    Air Service 1903 Magazine

These aren't often seen so I thought I'd share.

This came from an online auction which, admittedly, I knew did not offer shipping.
After winning, and begging for an exception, I was charged a "I don't want to do this" shipping fee.

All told, this one came in at.......$28.45

Sometimes, I actually get paid for the countless hours I spend tracking this stuff down!

Surprisingly, this will be the second one I've sold in as many weeks. Strange how often this rare stuff actually shows up!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. If I still collected US military, we'd be dealing again...

    Tastes come and go!

I’m getting into early semi-auto rifles now. I’ve turned loose of a couple US military rifles to fund that new focus.

Trying to thin out the 1903 Sporter collection a bit too but that’s like choosing a favorite kid!

    I sent him a PM.

I don't mean to post things as advertisements...in fact I usually wait until I've sold the items before sharing unless I need some advice on what I found.
Got a little excited on this one though!

And rightly so. Like I said, I'd have been chasing it if time was back a few years...you never see originals where I am.

Where is this Air Service rifle magazine being offered for sale? Is there an average "going rate" for these? In my experience they are very tough to find.

It was listed on GunBroker. It only went for $300. Less than I was hoping for but, that's how it goes sometimes.

Seems like the buyer got an excellent deal. I'm sure listing in this forum would had brought a higher result, but as usual, one is more clever afterwards...

To my experience they bring up to a few hundred Dollar, but never a four digit number.
