    intriguing inscription in P38 holster.

This is a completely unmarked holster. The inscription "obersturmführer von der Thal, Zweite kompanie, Panzer kampfgruppe Peiper". The pistol is my commercial version. Would like to find a roster, but the SS self group dissolved in 1992.

There is more writing on the flap but it's nearly impossible to read. It most likely is relevant to the writing that is visible. Perhaps if you worked with lighting and photographing at angles it may become more visible. I've had a similar situation where a photo was the only way to see what was written as it was too faded for the naked eye.
