Removing some coils from the 1916 Spanish Mauser bolt? Anyone do this with any COC?

    Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has removed any bolt spring coils from their M93 or similar cock on close Mauser. I'm just going to shoot this from a bench so it's not a big deal anyways but I do reload and like the idea of feeling the feedback from the case as I chamber. I hope that doesn't offend anyone =P. I know it can be sacrilegious to mess with a milsurp. My 1903a3 runs so smooth with 3/4" off the spring and you can always go back with a nos spring. Not sure how plentiful M93 springs are. They used to sell a kit with a trigger but I see it's discontinued.
Edit: looks like they are sold for fairly cheap so probably worth a shot to see. Maybe 1/2" to see how it does.

I’ve clipped firing pin spring coils from my Krags, ‘03s and recently a No1 Mk3 build. They still set off my hard cci primers but military primers might be harder so clip with care.

You may get erratic ignition, which in turn will give you crappy groups.

Thanks guys. I should be getting my extra spring in the mail in a couple days so I'll do 1/2" and see. Managed to get some MP 540 powder which seems to have a similar burn rate to N540. It's on American reloading in case you guys need some.
