    ZGB barrel...
    Prototype to the BREN.
Notice the flash hider takes a spanner to remove the flash hider and will probably have a bend over locking ring.
A real close photo of the front sight and the flash hider will confirm.
Also, check the breech of the barrel for markings......Those I would like to see as they will not be Britishicon unless it was reproved in the UK for some reason.

    Warren,
thanks for your kind reply! I did some research, following the ZGB-track, and had the idea that this could be a barrel for a Bulgarian ZB 39. I've seen some good pictures of those and I can't see any difference.
Unfortunately, the markings don't tell us anything.

    Many greetings

    T

Send me the markings off the barrel via PM and I can confirm the barrel,
Also, try the chamber with an 8 x 50 R round.

Sorry, quite busy at the moment; will try to make some over the weekend.
It's nothing but an "A" and a 5-digit (serial)number (lined out), and a "B" and another 5-digit serial. Both are in the ZB 39 serial number range, between 10.000 and 13.000. I suppose one is the 1st barrel and the other the marking for the spare barrel.
Of all the shooters I know, only one knows(!) that there is something like a 8X56 R, but he hasn't got any.

    many many thanks!

    Greetings:

I have a semi auto Zb-39 and this barrel's pictures appears identical to the ones I have in my parts kits and for this gun. Most barrels will have a Germanicon proof stamp near the chamber and the serial numbers.. and not much more. The 8 x 50 R round is a rather distinctive shape... I would conjecture that a normal .303 or 8mm round would not come clost to seating in the chamber.

    Case type Rimmed, bottleneck
Bullet diameter 8.35 mm (0.329 in)
Neck diameter 9.20 mm (0.362 in)
Shoulder diameter 12.00 mm (0.472 in)
Base diameter 12.47 mm (0.491 in)
Rim diameter 14.05 mm (0.553 in)
Rim thickness 1.37 mm (0.054 in)
Case length 55.63 mm (2.190 in)
Overall length 75.91 mm (2.989 in)

    WallG,

thanks a lot! Sorry, no time for pix, but meanwhile i'm quite sure that this is a ZB39-barrel.

    Again, thank you!

Germanicon authorities don't like parts of full auto guns in private hands ....
