    Keep away from sunlight. UV can damage fabrics and also fade them. Insects. Keep away for obvious reasons. Moisture. No-no. Mildew bad.

    Lay flat on acid free paper. Folding or rolling it can cause the fabric to be damaged (take a set). Museums have big drawers that are sealed against insects and put acid free paper on top and bottom.

    Thank you. That was basically what I ended up doing and advised the owner to leave it off the gun. Hopefully he followed through!
