A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Ours didn't always work and we never knew when they did or didn't. One took his chances on hunkering down behind the tank and if he didn't know you're there, anything could happen. I almost was backed over by armor before even turning eighteen because a driver didn't know...not his fault really. Just missed me. Ours were on the Centurions, we didn't have any Shermans left by the time I was around there.

Rifle (M1C ?) has a 'rain funnel' and he seems to be holding a Mk II hand grenade in his right hand.

It doesn't appear the scope is mounted. Whether a M81,82, or 84 (although unlikely) scope, the front end would just be visible.
