Hinden-Fleishman Curved Barrel Extension for the M1 Carbine

This is an interesting device manufactured by the Hinden-Fleishman Co. of Bala Cynwood, PA, which manufactured M1icon Carbine blank-firing adapters that used an identical spring catch and mounting collar. (Ref. "War Baby! Comes Home The U.S. Caliber .30 Carbine" Vol. II by Larry L. Ruth (1993)).
Less than 100 of these strange accessories were manufactured during the 1960's.
I hope someone in our Forum has additional information on this device, such as where the Curved Barrel was in service. History. The existence of any TM or User Guide. Carrying Case. Ammunition used: Standard or reduced load and so forth.
Any information will be most welcome. Thank you.
    Anders

As the Wehrmacht found out such a device is essentially useless. An interesting idea but no more. And really, if in a tank and people are on the top a grenade tossed out the hatch is far more useful. It won't hurt the tank a bit.

The Krummlauf or "Vorsats J" as the Germanicon Army designated it, was developed during the final stage of the war. This Hinden-Fleishman Curved Barrel Extension was developed during the 1960's.
This Thread is not about the usability of the device. What I am asking for is information about Hinden-Fleishman Curved Barrel Extension, as shown on the pictures.

The purpose of such devices have been found to be worthless and not worth the effort, that's all I was saying. If they worked they would still be making them. I don't get involved with documenting salt and pepper shakers either. I'll add that as it wasn't adopted by the military the chances of having a manual or TM is essentially zero.

    Anders-

I could find no records in the Department of Defense Logistics Data base for a HFCO or Hiden-Fleishman Corporatiuon or company. If this company was working for the DoD it would have been assigned a Federal Supply Code or Manufacturer's FSC (later called a CAGE Code) for purposes of payment.
